What does "docent" mean?
The Latin word "doceo" means "to teach". The Zoo docents are volunteers who share with visitors the mysteries and wonder of animals that we share this planet with.
Our mission:
is to complement the educational efforts of the Singapore Zoological Gardens and Night Safari by providing special programmes which educate visitors on conservation awareness and encourage respect for animals.
